40 years of health care

I'm an old General Practitioner, now fashionably called a Family Practitioner.
I was given the privilege of treating patients in 1968 when I graduated from a fashionable medical school on the East Coast. I moved to Denver to Intern at a city county hospital, Denver General Hospital, experiencing a dramatic, scary, and fast paced introduction to caring for patients with a myriad of health issues, resources, and lack of resources. I plan to talk about this in the future on this blog.

Now, 40 some years later, I see things a bit differently than the usual AMA blogs.  I have had a private practice during  those years and feel owned by my patients and feel that I own them. I have developed a trust of them, and hopefully, they feel the same.

I am interested in discussing your interactions with the health care system, and will obviously be giving some of my own opinions in the postings to come.
